Overview
This workshop covers a range of theoretical, practical demonstrations and hands on training both diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy surgery.
During this course you will find ample time for discussion, involvement in live case, assisting and performing hysteroscopy under direct supervision, debate and networking throughout the course of the meeting.
The workshops consist of:
• Delegates will attend a diagnostic hysteroscopy on hysterotrainers.
• In addition, there will be an assessment of diagnostic hysteroscopy skills and systematic
examination of uterine cavity
• Rotation around a series of stations, covering skills for negotiation of cervix, endometrial
polypectomy, endometrial ablation
• Hands on training and live cases.
The workshops run for 4 groups of delegates.
Who Should Attend?
• Gynaecologists, whether Consultants, specialists,Associate Specialists, or trainees wishing to develop and enhance their hysteroscopy skills.
After completing the course, you will be able to:
• Recognise when and why diagnostic hysteroscopy is appropriate and know how it is safely performed.
• Understand how and when to perform hysteroscopic procedures in an outpatient setting with minimal discomfort.
• Know the principles of setting up an outpatient hysteroscopy service.
• Understand the principles & safe use of electrosurgery for hysteroscopy
• Be familiar with various devices available for performing operative hysteroscopic procedures
including endometrial resection and ablation, endometrial polypectomy, fibroid resection/
• Be aware of the new developments in hysteroscopy
