Course Summary
The Operative Vaginal Delivery Workshop offers a comprehensive one-day program designed to equip obstetricians, gynecologists, and obstetric nurses with essential skills and knowledge in performing operative vaginal deliveries (OVD).
Course program
The program begins with informative lectures on the indications and necessary preparations for operative vaginal deliveries, covering essential techniques such as vacuum delivery, the Kiwi 5-step technique, and cesarean section at full dilation.
Participants will engage in interactive discussions and case-based scenarios to enhance their understanding of clinical decision-making in OVD.
Hands-on training sessions provide participants with practical experience in performing Kiwi rotational and non-rotational deliveries, manual rotation, pudendal block administration, forceps delivery, and managing shoulder dystocia scenarios.
The workshop concludes with a comprehensive review and discussion of key concepts covered throughout the day.
Learning Objectives
1. After this session, the physician: will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the performance of the essential steps of vacuum deliveries for occipito anterior, transverse/ lateral and posterior fetal positions on a pelvic model.
2. After this session, the physician: will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the performance of the essential steps of forceps deliveries for occipito anterior an on a pelvic model.
3. The Physician will be able to demonstrate management of Shoulder Dystocia on Pelvic Models and understand the complications of 2nd stage CS
